The cracks that have lately been punctuating probably Malawi’s most loved band, The Black Missionaries, following the ousting of the Chokani brothers – Paul and Takudziwani could sooner than later be impacting negatively on the former.

On Sunday, the band gave out a disappointing show in Karonga as part of the PSI Chishango Music Bash.
Julius Simwaka, a fan who watched the show, said the band’s performance was “shoddy.”
He said the absence of Taku and Paul was “felt.”
He said: “The two added flavour to their performances. Their leaving will seriously affect the band’s future performances forever.”
Taku and Paul have died a natural death in the band, and have revived the Wailing Brothers which released their album
Unfinished Project last month.
The band also lost – to death - Thugo, a few weeks ago – a keyboardist.
Nyasa Times could not get hold of band leader, Anjiru Fumulani, who was smuggled away by police immediately after the show.
But both Anjiru and Taku have repeatedly said that they would be working together. Ironically, the Blacks have missed Wailing Brothers launches.
But Ricky Nyaleye, PSI Communications Manager, said that the show had been “massive.”
He said the campaign was being carried out to “sensitize” people on the importance of using condoms.
The campaign is a national tour and it started in Mzuzu at Katoto Secondary School on Saturday.
