Malawi High Commission in South Africa is inviting Malawians who reside in South Africa and other nationalities to the interdenominational prayer service for Malawi Independence day celebrations which mark 51 years since Malawi’s independence.
Consul at Malawi consulate George Chilonga who is also Chairing the invent said during the service special prayers will be held to remember 7 Malawians who died in the recent xenophobic attacks.
The prayers will start Saturday 4th with a get together which will follow with music to be performed by varies gospel artists and choirs. At Midrand Conference Centre in Johannesburg.
Chilonga encouraged South African and other nationalities living in South Africa to come and interact together during the prayers as one way of making peace. xenophobic attacks.
” This is the reason why we are inviting other nationalities to attend the function, we want to promote peace among us and pray for the souls of those who were killed during the attacks” said Chilonga
