“I am very excited to be in Malawi. People should expect more thrill from me tomorrow evening,” she declared soon after landing at Kamuzu International Airport a while ago.
Lira said she is proud to be part of history as the inaugural Blue Mingoli artist and hailed Standard Bank for promoting music in Africa through sponsorship of music under Blue Mingoli and Joy of Jazz.
“This is the way to go for African corporate. I would like to thank Standard Bank for this initiative which is deliberately aimed at promoting African musicians,” she said.
The SA diva has checked in at Peermont Umodzi President’s hotel, a part of the Bingu International Conference Centre complex in Lilongwe City Centre where her show with Malawi’s Lulu will take place Saturday night.
Lira is due to address the press in an hour and will interact with Standard Bank employees at their Malawi head office.
The musician, who performs together with a four-member group called the Love Band said she looks forward to entertaining a new audience.
