Artists Giddes Chalamanda, Edgar and Davies lived up to their legacy over the weekend as the best acoustic musicians in Malawi when they moved an audience with fabulous vibes in Blantyre.

First to take the floor was veteran acoustic guitarist and darling of many Giddes Chalamanda who proved the old idiom old soldiers never die.
He received ceaseless applause from the audience that patronised the charity concert at sports complex at College of Medicine to raise money for Diabetes Association of Malawi.
Edgar and Davies, Edgar Kachere and Davies Njobvu also proved that they are not just finest lawyers in Malawi but also the finest acoustic musicians.
They received outstanding ovation for the well composed songs. Writing on his Facebook wall, Edgar said that it was an honour to be invited to participate at the concert.
He said he lost his father to diabetis.
Chairman of Diabetis Asssociation of Malawi Timothy Mtambalika said the concert was aimed at raising K2m to K3m which will be used to buy a diabetis equipment that will e used to test level sugars at Queens Elizaeth Central Hospital in Blantyre.
"But if we can raise K25m to K30m would be much better. This will allow us to buy similar equipments at Kamuzu Central Hospital and Mzuzu Central Hospital. “
He said the association also plans to buy equipment that can monitor lungs, the heart, pancreas and other body organs that are affected by diabetis.
