Morgan Heritage

Celebrated Jamaica's reggae band Morgan Heritage arrived in Malawi Friday afternoon through Kamuzu International Airport for a show slated on Sunday at Silver Stadium in Lilongwe. Just like their counterparts, Fantan Mojah and Luciano who performed in the country earlier, they too took part in singing Rasta chants before taking questions from the media. A convoy that welcomed the Morgan Heritage members brought Lilongwe to a stand still as people queued along the roads waving and rejoicing upon seeing that the band that is loved so dearly is finally home. "Morgan Heritage is here to entertain Malawians, we will give them a show to remember as we share the message of love and salvation,"  said Peetah. The band is on a world tour promoting their new album, Strictly Roots, and will perform in Malawi courtesy of the country's music promoter and reggae artist Born African. The Malawi show is way cheaper compared to what Morgan Heritage charges in other countries, for instance the Lilongwe show’s cover charge for a standard ticket is K10, 000.00 (approximately £10 in the UK and approximately $14 in the US but when holding shows in other countries Morgan Heritage pegs its standard tickets at £40 for a standard ticket or $50. Malawi's Black Missionaries and Soul Raiders will curtain raise the show.
