Renowned reggae band the Morgan Heritage have expressed desire to work with Malawian artist after successfully recording a song with Nelson Shaba a.k.a Born Afrika.

This was disclosed during a news briefinhg the band had on Saturday in Lilongwe, Malawi's Capital.
The band is on a world tour promoting their new album, Strictly Roots, and will perform in
Malawi courtesy of the country’s music promoter and reggae artist Born African.
"We are happy to in Malawi for many years, as a group we have the desire to be in Africa, a warm continent and we are here back home.
"As we were starting our journey to Malawi, we didn't understand what they meant by saying 'a warm heart of Africa' but soon after landing at the airport, we understood. This is a very beautiful country, warm, green and the mountains with lovely people, it’s been a great experience," said Peetah Morgan.
Working local artists
The crew was honest enough to disclose that they have never sampled many Malawi reggae music but have worked closely with Born Afrika and therefore open to serious local musicians.
"We have produced one song with Born Afrika and if there is an opportunity we are ready to work with more Malawian artists. We want to give back to our home, our recording company Cool To Be Conscious (CTBC) will have music projects in Africa, so yeah we are here," said Mojo.
However, Peetah had tips to local musicians on how to prosper in the industry.
"Sometimes we he to persevere, for us to reach this far we have to pass through thick and thin. What is Paramount sometimes is to spend time listening to established musicians. If its reggae then listen to Bob Marley, Burning Spear, Fantan Mojah, Luciano and other great musicians, the same applies to Hip Hop and different roots genres.
"You don't rush into studio without knowing what you want to come out with. Do your voices again because that also matters most in music. I can say Africa had the best vocalist in reggae music in the name of Lucky Dube, he was great (may his soul rest in peace) and Malawians can also do the same," he said
To be back
Taking his turn, Mojo disclosed of the second coming to Malawi next year.
"As you can see, some of supporting band members are not here with us for various valid reasons beyond our control. We have cancelled the Zimbabwe show but didn't want to let down Malawians so we have to come and be assured we will give out massive performance.
"We are planning a big event in Malawi next year around October with the whole band crew. It will not be us alone but several Jamaican artists because we want it to be like a festival," he said while thanking Born Afrika for having passion in promoting reggae music.
Afrika said as a Rasta he is determined to be part of enlighten people on the movement of Rastafari as a way of life and reggae music.
"I love Rasta's way of way of life, I like reggae music and am determined to work hard is spreading the message through music. If you love reggae and Rasta, you will do your utmost best to take part in the building part of it because if we all bring a brick for a house for sure it will be done," he said.
Born Afrika has managed to bring renowned reggae artists from Jamaica like Fantan Mojah and Luciano.
