Jamaican music group, Morgan Heritage has defended its disappointing performance in Malawi on Sunday, labelling it as an appetizer, and hassince pledged to compesate patrons with a half-the-ticket-price event next year.

The band dubbed the ‘royal family of reggae’ caused mass disappointment amongst Malawians who patronized their live show at Silver Stadium only to be treated to a music from the pre-recorded USB
flash drive.
Patrons to the show had to pay K10,000 for an advance ticket and K15,000 on the door while on VIP paid K25,000.
However, the grouping has come under fire for its performance from the USB flash that annoyed many fans who anticipated scintillating live band as promoted by the organizers- Born African Productions.
In an email on Monday, the group admitted it could not give Malawian audience the desired live band performance as some of its members did not make the trip.

Nyasa Times in an email, the group, instead of postponing the show, decided to come and give Malawians what he called an appetizer while hoping to have a bigger show next year.
''We could’ve chosen to postpone the show but when speaking with Born African Productions, We expressed our love and desire to still come to Malawi to do something from our hearts for the people by any means necessary,'' said Mojo Morgan.
Mojo disclosed it was the band's decision that a few of its members should come to Malawi to ''at least let the people see us and receive an appetizer''.
He added: ''It was important for us not to be like previous attempts where negations didn't materialize. So we want to take this time to assure all Malawians that at our show in 2016 the full band will be there with better production by any means necessary.”
He has since guaranteed to compensate Malawian audience during next year's show, adding ''we guarantee that the ticket price will be half of what everyone paid last night (Sunday)''.
It was Malawi’s very own reggae groupings, the Black Missionaries and Soul Raiders who performed with live band as a supporting artist during the Sunday's concert.
Taking to Facebook to vent their fury, the frustrated Malawians criticised the show’s promoters- Born Afrikan- for misleading them.
The much-loved quintet, comprised of siblings Peetah, Una, Roy (known as Gramps), Nakhamyah (known as Lukes) and Memmalatel (known as Mojo) Morgan.
They recently released their new album Strictly Roots – their first independently released through the group's CTBC Music Group record label.
