The two who married two years ago and have a daughter are said to have been on separation for over a year now.
Maskal, presently in South Africa for shows and holidays is said to be in new love with one Tapiwa Nkhoma – a UK based Malawi lady.
A relation confided in
Nyasa Times that things have been shoddy for the two since Maskal went for a UK performance tour in November, 2013.
“He [Maskal] stopped communicating to his wife, and instead of coming back the following month, he came back three months later in February, 2014,” the family member said.
“After his return, Sekai started noticing strange behaviours on the part of Maskal, and eventually realized that he had a girlfriend in the UK. She asked Maskal about it but he denied saying she was just one of his fans. They kept on arguing about the issue until in March 2014 when they separated with Sekai moving to her uncle’s place.”
According to the family member, Maskal left for South Africa in April to perform in Cape Town, and from there he proceeded to Europe without Sekai knowing.
Nyasa Times understands that Maskal has been refusing to meet with Sekai’s uncle to formally process the divorce.
He has reportedly apologized to Sekai and is seeking reunion but Sekai is not for the idea.
“In February, Maskal was literally chased by Sekai at her house after she noticed he was still in touch with Tapiwa who by then was in the country for holidays at her home village in Salima.
After months of separation, Maskal came to Sekai again pleading with her to bury the hatchet on the basis that there was no way he would marry Tapiwa considering the fact that it is Sekai who knows him from his childhood.
But Sekai is said to have given up on Maskal, and does not want him in her life anymore.
When
Nyasa Times contacted her, Sekai said she did not want to comment about her private life in public.
“I’ve respect for Maskal, and for your own information Maskal is the father of my daughter,” said Sekai.
And in an interview from South Africa, Maskal expressed ignorance of the whole story.
He said he knew nothing of a “separation” before cutting the call.
