The 10-track album has songs such as Fulumirani, Mulinane cholinga, Dzulo langa and Lemekeza, according to the group’s Music Director Francis Phiri.
“We have so far managed to record at least three songs and we expect to wrap up by the end of next month,” Phiri told Malawi News Agency (Mana) in an interview.
He assured fans and all gospel music lovers that the yet-to-be titled new release will be the best one ever and different from group’s previous albums.
Phiri laughed off proclamations that gospel artists are in gospel industry for money.
“We understand some gospel artists might have joined the industry for the sake of money, but to us as Marvelous Deeds we take this as a ministry and a calling from God.
“Let me assure all Malawians that as a ministry we are ready now to fulfill what God has called us for,” said Phiri.
He cited financial constraints, piracy and lack of promoters as some of the challenges for the group.
Said Phiri: “It has been a tough journey since we started as Marvelous Deeds, but we thank God we managed to be where we are now.”
He called on fellow artists in the country to take gospel music seriously and as a ministry to which God has called them.
“We are pleading to our fellow gospel artists not to take gospel music for granted since it’s a ministry and a calling from God,” he said.-Mana
