Busy Signal promised fireworks at Malawi Sand Music Festival

[embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ybGujHltF78[/embed] Jamaican dancehall artist Busy Signal arrived in Malawi on Wednesday ahead of his scheduled performance at the Sand Music Festival in Salima this weekend. The artist landed at Chileka International Airport (CIA) in Blantyre at 16:45 aboard Malawians Airlines with his 12-member band. He later gave a brief interview to local journalists, before they were driven to Sunbird Mount Soche hotel. Saying the people are his driving force when it comes to his performances, the singer promised an electrifying show at the Livingstonia Beach come Saturday, the day he is booked to headline the three-day festival that starts tomorrow, 30th October. “It’s not the promoters, not the juice, not the drinks, [but] the people give me the energy, that’s the feeling I get to carry on. This weekend it’s going to be a blast [and] electrifying, musically,” promised the dancehall icon. Busy Signal, real name Glendale Goshia Gordon, was expected to travel to Lilongwe by road today, before connecting to the lakeshore district of Salima for the festival that will see him share the stage with local acts as well as artists from Zambia and Zimbabwe. Sand Music Festival director Lucius Banda told Nyasa Showbiz that the Jamaican preferred to drive to the Capital City because “he wants to see places and have a feel of Malawi on the way”. Initially, the artist was scheduled to fly direct to Lilongwe from Harare, Zimbabwe, where he performed last Saturday. Busy Signal calls Malawi and the rest of Africa “motherland”.
