Tapiwa Nkhoma, a Manchester based Malawian girl who is dating
Zili Ndi Iwe hit maker Maskal, born Masiye Kansalu, has accused her critics of unfairly demonising her, defending her romance with the award-winning R&B singer insisting their relationship began after his affair with Sekai Mponda ended.

Nyasa Times reported that Maskal and Sekai who they have a daughter together are said to have been on separation for over a year now.
The relationship is said to have hit rock bottom since Maskal went for a UK performance tour in November, 2013 when he met Tapiwa.
But when contacted for her comment, Tapiwa denies being responsible for Maskal and Sekai problems, saying she began relationship with the singer after he had separated with Sekai.
“We didn't start seeing each other until after they had separated,' she said.
Tapiwa also said Maskal was not a married man and hence he is not a home wrecker.
“He only engaged Sekai and lived together for less than six months in Machinjiri,” said Tapiwa.
On how they started their romance, Tapiwa said: “Maskal met me in UK on my birthday December 21 2013. And I was unaware about his life in Malawi. When I asked him about his love life, he said to me that the relationship with his baby mother was not working and he had decided to move on.”
Tapiwa said Sekai should take responsibility for her breakdown of their relationship with Maskal, saying she also has skeletons in the cupboard that forces the singer to walk away.
She claims Sekai has also moved on.
“Maskal loves his two year old daughter and I have much respect for his daughter alone and not the mother who goes out with sugar daddies for money yet at the same time claiming to be Maskal’s wife. No one blessed their marriage, it was just an engagement,” said Tapiwa.
“I have known Maskal for two years now, he is not a perfect guy neither I am but we get along very well. I see nothing wrong with that,” she said.
“All I do is encourage him spiritually and to take a good care of his daughter. And I do care about his daughter a lot,” Tapiwa said.
She said Maskal is a loving man and would not have left Sekai “if she was a wife material.”
Tapiwa stressed that she did not destroy the union of Sekai and Maskal, saying she is “a very responsible lady.”
According to Tapiwa, the family of the singer has embraced her very well. She sauid she was speaking from Malawi where she is on holiday and having “quality good time” with Maskal.
When
Nyasa Times contacted Sekai, she did not want to comment about her private life in public.
“I’ have much respect for Maskal, and for your own information Maskal is the father of my daughter,” said Sekai.
Maskal has been tight lipped on the matter.
