Chileka-based reggae outfit the Black Missionaries have fired two of their members – Takudziwani and Paul Chokani – for allegedly setting “parallel structures,”

Takudziwani, a lead guitarist, and Paul, a percussionist, have been part of the Black Missionaries band for over a decade.
An inside source within the band confided in
Nyasa Times that the band’s front man and leader Anjiru Fumulani has “not been happy” with the two’s recent developments.
“Anjiru has expressed discontent with the two’s revival of the
Wailing Brothers last year. He has not been very happy with it and has told them to quit the band,” our source said.
The
Wailing Brothers was started by the Chokani brothers who were long time confidantes of Evison Matafale – founder of the Black Missionaries band and cousin to the Fumulanis.
The duo repeatedly said in local press that they were not “disbanding.”
Anjiru, too, has reportedly been quoted in the press saying they had no problems with the Chokanis reviving the
Wailing Brothers.
“The band will be involving them in the same way it involves Anthony Makondetsa,” he had said.
Anjiru could not immediately comment.
